ACADEMICS
TK
building confidence
for the next step
Transitional Kindergarten (TK) is the first year of a two-year Kindergarten program designed for four-year-olds to build a strong foundation for future school success. TK bridges the gap between preschool and Kindergarten by combining play-based learning with early literacy, mathematics, language development, and social-emotional skills. Through hands-on activities, children develop confidence, independence, cooperation, and the skills needed to thrive academically and socially. In California, TK is optional, giving families an additional opportunity to help prepare their children for Kindergarten.
At Holy Family School, TK is a full-day program from 8:00 a.m. to 2:50 p.m and 9:00am-12:20pm on Wednesdays. Our developmentally appropriate curriculum encourages curiosity, creativity, and a love of learning through meaningful, engaging experiences. Students explore new concepts, practice problem-solving, learn to follow directions and take turns, and build friendships in a supportive environment. Our integrated approach connects literacy, math, science, and social-emotional development throughout the day, helping students grow in confidence and prepare for a successful transition to Kindergarten.
